Proxy Server Configuration
The need to disable individual proxies may arise both at the user’s personal request and for objective reasons – for example, if the server cannot cope with the work, constantly interrupts Internet connections, and it needs to be replaced. This problem is often faced by owners of free IPs – unlike paid versions, public addresses can be used by several people at the same time, which adversely affects the speed of page loading and the functionality of the server as a whole. How do you disable a proxy? Let’s consider detailed recommendations in various cases.
Disabling proxies on Windows
The process of deactivating proxies on Windows PCs is completed in a matter of minutes. Although the sequence of actions may differ slightly depending on the version of the operating system, in general, the difference is insignificant.
Let’s take a closer look at how to disable the proxy, using Windows 7 as an example:
1. Go to the Control Panel through the Start menu.
2. Go to the “Internet Options” tab.
3. In the Internet Properties pop-up, open Connections.
4. Find the “VPN” line.
5. From the proposed options for Internet connection, select the option that you plan to use in the future.
6. In the “Settings” section and disable the option “use a proxy server for this connection”.
Ready!
All that remains is to confirm your actions. Now you won’t be able to connect via a proxy on your PC.
How to turn off proxies on Android
Regardless of the version and location, personal proxies are equally suitable for both desktop and mobile devices. Most often, private IPs are purchased by users of smartphones running Android. To quickly deactivate the proxy in this case, follow the recommendations:
1. In the phone settings (most often a gear icon), find the “WI-FI” section.
2. Select the wireless network you’re connecting to and click Show More Options.
3. Delete the data from the “Proxy hostname” and “Port” lines.
4. In the “Proxy” section, instead of “Manually”, select “No”.
If the connection to an individual server on a mobile device was carried out using special applications, the deactivation process is even simpler: proxies are disabled automatically or simultaneously with the removal of the software.
Deactivate proxy server in Google Chrome browser, Google Chrome
Most modern browsers have certain extensions that allow you to log in to web portals using private IPs. When you need to disable proxy in Google Chrome:
1. In the upper right corner, three dots in a column are drawn, click there
2. A window will drop, select Settings
3. Scroll down and select Advanced
4. Select Proxy Server Settings. Then everything is shown in the screenshots. It’s very simple.
Disabling the Proxy Server in the Mozilla Firefox browser
Everything is very clear on the screenshots.
The procedure is similar for Opera and Yandex.Browser. Separately, it is worth considering the procedure for shutting down a personal server in Internet Explorer – despite the fact that today this browser is not so popular, only it supports working with an electronic digital signature. This explains the need for application for individual entrepreneurs and representatives of organizations. To deactivate the proxy, go to the “Internet Options” settings. In the “Connections” section, turn off the “Use a proxy server for…” feature. If all the steps are done consistently and correctly, you will start as usual – directly from the actual IP address.
